Recently, the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory hosted a scheduled scientific and methodological conference, organized by the higher education institution in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The scientific-practical forum for postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, and independent researchers, titled «Key Directions for the Development of Musical Science in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of a Powerful State,» proved to be highly productive. The presented reports elucidated scientific aspects of various domains within the art of music.

The conference commenced with introductory remarks by the Rector of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, Candidate of Art History R. Amangeldiyev. In his address, he emphasized that the nation accords particular importance to a scientific approach in the development of all sectors, noting that the results of research activities serve as a guarantee of high achievements. In this regard, it was noted that the fundamental conditions for progress are the opportunities established by the Esteemed President and the Hero-Arkadag.

Doctor of Art History and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Turkmen Music, Ch. Jumayev, presented a report titled «History and Its Artistic Embodiment in Turkmen Musical Art.» The core substance of the discussed issue involved the historical specificities of the national musical heritage, manifested in the unique creativity and performance mastery of bagshy and musicians. Ch. Jumayev’s scientific perspectives elicited significant interest from the audience. The presentation by Candidate of Art History and Associate Professor of the Department of Folk Musical Instruments, M. Gapurov, titled «V. A. Uspensky and V. M. Belyayev,» was dedicated to the scholars who stood at the origins of the comprehensive study of national musical art. The valuable materials collected by V. A. Uspensky during musical-ethnographic expeditions across the country in the 1920s underwent profound scientific analysis by V. M. Belyayev. The specific nature of their research continues to serve as a vital information resource today, offering original concepts for contemporary analytical approaches.

Candidate of Art History and Senior Lecturer of the Department of the Art of Bagshy, K. Yovbasarov, delivered a report titled «Glorification of the Steed in the Gorogly Epic.» The effective synthesis of scientific analysis and the performance mastery of the talented mentor made a profound impression on the listeners. The presentation by K. Garovov, Head of the Department of Composition and Instrumentation and Senior Lecturer, focused on «Dramaturgical Features of Symphonies by Turkmen Composers.» Investigating the dramaturgy of the symphonic genre from a composer’s perspective, K. Garovov provided valuable insights into the thematic and structural characteristics of these large-scale musical canvases.

The scientific-methodological conference was attended not only by the conservatory's postgraduate and doctoral students but also by invited guests. Specifically, the audience’s attention was drawn to reports by postgraduate students from the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan: T. Oveznepesova on «Scientific Perspectives on Medieval Cities» and A. Durdykylycheva on «The Significance of Studying Park Zones.» Their presentations vividly reflected aspects of scientific reflection on various historical periods and cultural values.

Furthermore, during the conference, presentations were made by Sh. Annaglyjova, Head of the Theory of Music Department and Senior Lecturer («Modern Directions in the Development of Musical Science»), and J. Orazova, a postgraduate researcher («Structural Features and Dramaturgical Development of M. Annamuradov’s Symphonic Poem Among the Oguz»).

The held conference was distinguished by the relevance and diversity of the presented themes. The guest reports, which addressed achievements not only in musicology but also in related fields, were warmly received by students and faculty. We express our sincere gratitude to the Esteemed President and the National Leader for all the opportunities provided for the wide dissemination of scientific achievements, the exchange of experience, and the opening of new paths toward future professional milestones.

R. Mu khammedov,

Senior Lecturer of the Department of Music History at the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory.
