On September 23, a regular session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, took place at the Maslahat Köşgi Palace in the capital, TDH reports.

The agenda of this nationwide forum, held on the eve of a momentous occasion, the 35th anniversary of the independence of our Motherland, included important issues concerning the well-being and prosperity of the people and the further socioeconomic development of Turkmenistan.

A highlight of the Halk Maslahaty meeting was the Address by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which outlined future objectives for the continued development of the independent state. Among the key tasks in this regard, the Head of State identified the modernization of the oil and gas sector, based on advanced technological achievements.

“We will continue our work on the country’s economic and industrial development, since this is the primary goal of our socioeconomic strategy,” the President of Turkmenistan said.

“One of the key tasks is the modernization of the oil and gas sector based on advanced achievements. Major projects for the extraction, processing and export of hydrocarbon resources and for the development of new fields are being implemented on a programmatic basis,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted.

“Currently, the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline section along the Serhetabat–Herat route, known as ‘Arkadagyň ak ýoly’ is proceeding at an accelerated pace. Similarly, new facilities are being built within the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. At the same time, effective measures are being taken to modernize the Seydi oil refinery,” the Head of State continued.

“The phased development of Galkynyş, one of the world’s largest natural gas fields, is also proceeding successfully. This process enables to significantly expand the country’s industrialization and to strengthen its position as an energy power,” the President of Turkmenistan emphasized.

“This year, with the participation of the Hero-Arkadag, the fourth phase of the development of the Galkynyş field – the construction of a modern plant with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of marketable gas a year – was launched. More than 1,000 new jobs will soon be created there,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

The President emphasized, “The full implementation of such a significant project will increase the volumes of the supplies of hydrocarbons and will ensure their reliable exports. Overall, the fourth phase of the Galkynyş gas field development, along with the ground-breaking for a modern settlement in the Yolotan etrap, Mary velayat, have become major projects within the framework of the energy and social policies.”

“In general, the ongoing reforms are aimed at transforming Turkmenistan into an advanced industrial and high-tech manufacturing hub,” the head of state stated.

“Today, Turkmenistan possesses a robust industrial sector that drives sustainable economic development. To consistently implement measures aimed at transforming the country into an advanced industrial state, a National Strategy of the Industrial Development of Turkmenistan for 2030–2045 should be adopted,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

On the same day, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov issued a Resolution approving the National Strategy of the Industrial Development of Turkmenistan for 2030–2045.
