The President of Turkmenistan: The country's GDP growth rate for January-April was 6.3%

In January-April this year, the GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan was 6.3%. This was said by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting, which took place on April 3 on the digital system.

Addressing the meeting participants, the President of Turkmenistan stated that the results of the work performed over the four months of this year in the country demonstrate the success of the programs being implemented. Thus, in the period under review, the GDP growth rate was 6.3%.

The head of state also noted that this indicator in the industrial industry reached 3.7%, in the transport and communication sector - 7.2%, in the service sector - 8%, in the shopping complex - 8.2%, in construction - 5.8%, in agriculture - 5%.

During the government meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country Hojamurad Geldimyradov said that in four months of 2024, in comparison with the same period last year, the volume of manufactured products increased by 11.4%, retail trade turnover increased by 11.1%.

According to the Vice-Chairman, the revenue part of the state budget for January-April of this year was executed at the level of 102.6%, and expenditure - 97.4%. wages for large and medium-sized enterprises in the country in comparison with the corresponding period of 2023 for January-April by 10.4%, wages, pensions, state benefits and Student Scholarships.

The Vice-Chairman also noted that over the four months of this year, the volume of capital investments increased by 23.9% compared to the same period in 2023.
