Veterans of the Great Patriotic War were presented with gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan
In Turkmenistan, in honor of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, veterans in all velayats of the country and the city of Ashgabat were solemnly presented with monetary and valuable gifts with wishes of good health and good spirits.
Representatives of hyakimliks, etraps, public organizations, military personnel and youth came to congratulate the veterans.
All veterans expressed sincere gratitude to the head of state for his tireless care and attention to the older generation.
In early May, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree ordering that cash and valuable gifts be presented to veterans on behalf of the President.
“Respecting the unparalleled heroism shown on the battlefields by participants in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, the dedication of gray-haired mothers who worked in the rear at that time, the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree ordering the khyakimliks of velayats, cities and etraps in honor of the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory in in a solemn atmosphere, to present cash gifts in the amount of 200 manats and valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to war veterans,” the document noted.
At a meeting of the State Security Council of the country held on May 3, Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure a high organizational level of the celebrations scheduled for May 9 in Ashgabat and the regions on the occasion of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
