The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikhail Jabbarov signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of natural gas between Turkey and Azerbaijan on May 14 in Istanbul, reports the Turkish channel TRT.

After the document signing ceremony, Bayraktar said at a press conference that the signed agreement provides for the supply of additional volumes of natural gas from Azerbaijan and the Caspian region to Turkey, as well as to Europe through Turkey.

“In addition, we agreed on the supply of Turkmen gas through Azerbaijan and Georgia to Turkey,” the minister added.

Bayraktar also recalled that the two countries jointly implemented many projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which plays an important role in the supply of Azerbaijani oil, as well as oil from the Caspian region and the Caucasus to Turkey and through Turkey to world markets.
