The regional stage of the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics championship, held from February 10 to 13, 2026, in the capital of Kazakhstan, concluded with a significant victory for our country’s students. Representing Turkmenistan, the "Oguzrobot" team demonstrated exceptional preparation and earned the right to participate in the upcoming competition to be held in the People's Republic of China.

The competition in Astana stood out for its scale and the caliber of its participants. Nearly 80 teams from various parts of the world, including Hong Kong, Estonia, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, took part in the championship. Amidst such high competition, the results achieved by the Turkmen youth garnered great interest.

Having defeated all opponents in the initial rounds, our youth successfully advanced to the qualifying stage—the most exciting part of the contest. Winning two out of the four most challenging games in the qualifying round, the team received high marks from the judges for robot design and programming. Based on the judges' evaluation, the "Oguzrobot" team was granted a special quota to participate in the international robotics competition in China for their innovative solutions and superior technical skills.

It is worth noting that the participating teams consisted of students from specialized secondary schools No. 97 and No. 86 in Ashgabat, who underwent rigorous training at the "Kämil bilim" education center in the capital.

Following last year’s "International Success" award in Astana, securing a spot in the China competition this year is a clear testament to the continuous advancement of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in our country.
