The decisions of the Halk Maslahaty set new benchmarks for the development of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector
The meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held at the Maslahat Köşgi Palace in the capital on September 23 and chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, summed up large-scale transformations and defined key tasks for the country’s socioeconomic and industrial development.
Among the priority areas of the state policy outlined in the speeches of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a key role is assigned to the fuel and energy complex – the driving force of the national economy.
Thanks to the purposeful policy of the country’s leadership, the conditions necessary for high labor productivity have been established within the fuel and energy sector. Enterprises are actively adopting advanced digital technologies and deploying innovative equipment from leading global manufacturers, while strictly adhering to environmental safety and occupational health standards.
At the same time, the state places special emphasis on training highly qualified personnel and systematically improving the living and working conditions of the sector’s employees. The constant attention of the country’s leadership to the industry’s needs and the high regard shown for the work of energy specialists provide a powerful impetus, instill confidence in the future and inspire the achievement of new milestones for the prosperity of the beloved Motherland.
In his historic speech, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty highlighted the strategic importance of the super-giant Galkynyş gas field. The phased development of this unique cluster ensures a steady supply of gas to both the domestic market and export destinations.
The launch of the fourth phase of the Galkynyş development project became a significant event. The construction of new infrastructure facilities will enable the additional processing of up to 10 billion cubic meters of marketable gas annually. Implementing this project will not only expand the country’s export potential but also create hundreds of new jobs.
Particular emphasis is placed on transnational initiatives, including the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline. Of particular importance is its Serhetabat–Herat section in Afghanistan, known as “Arkadagyň ak ýoly,” which serves as a symbol of the country’s peace-building and constructive foreign policy.
At the same time, processing capacities are being expanded: new facilities are under construction at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries, and the Seydi oil refinery is undergoing modernization.
“The reforms currently underway are aimed at transforming Turkmenistan into an advanced industrial and high-tech hub,” President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
The high praise for the oil and gas sector, voiced from the high rostrum of the Halk Maslahaty, was received with deep gratitude and pride by the workforces of the Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit State Concerns and the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation.
Industry workers expressed their readiness to reciprocate the constant care shown by the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar through dedicated labor and the successful fulfillment of set objectives. These include developing new fields, increasing the volume of deep raw material processing, implementing innovations, transitioning to a green economy and reducing emissions.
The outcomes of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty confirmed that Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector looks confidently to the future, remaining a key guarantor of the people’s social wellbeing and the economic strength of the sovereign Motherland.

Turkmenistan’s Green Energy Diplomacy
Throughout its centuries-old history, humankind has strived to be closer to nature and to treat its resources and clean environment with great care.
Green energy – prosperity of the future
One of the main differences between the use of green energy, i.e., the use of solar, wind and water energy, and the use of fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal and others) as energy is that their use practically does not cause pollution caused by the emission of methane and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Environmental well-being is the main requirement of the era
In the period of the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State, the work carried out to protect the environment, to ensure environmentally friendly conditions, to reduce harmful emissions, to preserve the ozone layer and to rationally use natural resources is gaining momentum. Environmental safety is of great importance in ensuring a prosperous and peaceful life in the country.
Environmental well-being and green energy are a priority
As a result of the increase in population and production rates, the economy continues to develop.
Source of energy for a bright future
In the era of rapid development of modern science and technology, humanity faces important environmental problems. Such problems as global warming, air pollution and shortage of natural resources force the world community to look for new energy sources. In this situation, green energy, that is, renewable energy obtained from natural sources, comes to the fore.
